The Scientific Board is an autonomous academic body focused mainly on the scientific, research and other creative activities of the university. The chair is the rector, members are appointed by the rector when approved by the Academic Senate.
Scope of the Scientific Board is defined by sections 11 and 12 of the Higher Education Act. It discusses the draft of the strategic plan, approves degree programmes and documents for accreditation, exercises competency in regard to the procedures for the appointment of the professors, discusses the annual reports, reports of the internal evaluation of the quality and other crucial documents.
