U studijních programů zaměřených na vzdělávání vybíráte vždy kombinaci dvou: hlavní (maior) a přidružený (minor). Viz podrobnější informace.
Educational goals
The aim of the study programme is to develop students? expertise predominantly in the fields of molecular biology, biochemistry, zoology, botany and geology. The study programme is intended to extend this previously mentioned knowledge to the extent of mandatory subjects required in the state exams. Its concept is designed in order to enable its students to discern and describe problems of both the basic and the applied research using their acquired knowledge and skills. It also makes students learn to discover solutions to these biology-concerned issues using interdisciplinary approaches.
Profile of the graduate
Graduates acquire elementary knowledge covering key biological disciplines such as general and molecular biology, general and systematic botany, general and systematic zoology, anatomy and physiology of human body, microbiology and virology, the rudiments of geology and the Earth?s formation, palaeontology and the basics of mineralogy. They are also acquainted with the basic regulations valid for the health and safety measures applied in biology laboratories. Graduates are able to work independently both in the laboratory and in fieldwork research. They are endowed with knowledge concerning basic research methods, which enables them to assess, interconnect and use the acquired output in applied biological disciplines. They are able to conceive and develop projects including their presentation to the public and their defence. They are able to use technology in order to solve and assess experiments and to process their output. They are prepared for further studies in the postgraduate programmes called Teaching for lower secondary schools.
