Educational goals
The mission of the undergraduate program in Mathematics is predominantly thorough preparation of students to continue in further studies and offer them programs leading to the degree Master of Science/Arts at Technical University of Liberec, for example, in the field of Mathematical Models and their applications in the study program called Applied Mathematics as well as in other prestigious technical fields. Students are provided with a solid foundation for Computational Science. One of the goals of the mathematics degree is also the immediate student´s employability, in other words, students can pursue careers in the tech industry, government agencies, the corporate sector, financial institutions, or insurance companies dealing with hardware and software.
Profile of the graduate
The mission of the undergraduate program in Mathematics specialized for Educational Purposes is the following: obtaining basic theoretical knowledge about essential mathematical disciplines, orientation in information resources and professional literature, ability to control computing technology, processing acquired knowledge and subsequent presentation of achieved results. Key orientation in pedagogical disciplines, gaining important socio-pedagogical knowledge and skills, familiarization with foreign texts and the ability to critically analyze. Individual output knowledge is defined in terms of knowledge and skills regarding the major, including pedagogical-psychological and general knowledge providing students with broad understanding of the discipline.
